How to get IntelliChem to create set amount of chlorine per day

Hi,

I've had an IntelliChem for a couple of years now and have gone through 3 ORP sensors already as the ORP would always be erratic. For example, right now it's reading 450 but the rest of the water is balanced and the FC level is reading as 3. I would like to run the system so that the IntelliChlor is set to dispense a set amount each day. How can I accomplish this? I have an EasyTouch 8, along with the IntelliChem and IntelliChlor. I don't want to get rid of the IntelliChem because I do like the pH automation as that has worked well for me (with the acid tank).

Dose by volume can be set, but you will still need a properly working sensor to prevent alarms, have you cleaned the sensor recently? A dirty sensor can cause incorrect readings. Please use a mild soap and soft brush (toothbrush) and gently scrub the sensor bulb, rinse it off and reinstall, if this does not work, you will need to replace the sensor.

Hi Richard,

I had cleaned the sensor prior to closing my pool last season, and I stored it using the IntelliChem winterizing kit so I didn't think I needed to clean it upon opening the pool and reinstalling everything...however, per your suggestion I went ahead and cleaned it. After doing so the ORP went up to around 550 (instead of 450) with balanced water. Since that was still too low, I decided to see if buying a new ORP sensor and new ORP sensor cable would help things. I received those new items yesterday and after installing them the ORP reading is still 550 (with properly balanced water of course).

Is it possible that something is wrong with the main board and that's making the ORP reading be wrong? I haven't had a properly working IntelliChem from day 1 (as far as the ORP goes) and I purchase it and have it installed by a Pentair authorized company. I no longer use that company as they didn't seem to know how to fix my issues after several attempts.
