Checking cell is an indication that the Intellichem is attempting to communicate with the cell, you may need to look at what your acid level is reading vs. what the actual reading is at. You have the option to contact direct when you are at the pool equipment for further assistance at 1-800-831-7133.

Did you ever find a solution?
Posted

Did you ever find a solution? The same thing happened to me last year. I replaced the circuit board. The pump went bad and I just replaced that too. Within the first couple days it was stuck in Checking Cell again. I'm wondering it if happens at start up. The only way I can get it off Checking Cell is by shutting down all power at the panel and turning it all back on.

Pentair sends 3rd time pool
Posted

Pentair sends 3rd time pool service company to find out a problem and guess what? After replacing circuit board and control unit issue still there.
Tech shows up right when Control Unit froze, again,in "CHECKING SELL'' mode and after couple of hours tells me nothing wrong and I need to keep my water properly balanced. Next day I took my pool water sample to Leslies for analysis report and besides being 3300ppm on salt instead of 3600ppm, as recommended by Pentair , everything else was good to go. So I am back to square one , last night Control Unit froze again . Lets see what Pentair going to do .

I am having the same problem.

I am having the same problem. This is a new pool. Starts in the morning ok but sometime during the day it get hung up on "checking cell" at which point the dispenser stops working. Have to power down control panel to reset and sensor starts at 60mins to next dose. This is not promising as we will be gone for weeks at a time. Pool service comes once a week. What happens the other 6 days???????

I would recommend put diluted acid in dispenser in case pump will start pumping without stopping, as it happened to me 2 times already. Likely we where around to bring Ph back to normal the same day.1 gallon of acid mixed with 1 gallon pool of water !

So, yesterday it dumped on me again. About 2 gallons of Acid. A thought came to me. My controller is in extreme daylight and heat from the Florida sun. Very hot. I am curious if this is causing an issue on the board. Are your controllers also in the heat? A semi-unrelated note, I also have automation with the wireless controller for the iPhone, etc. Hit my lightning. $400 to replace the little box. Outrageous. But, I can't live without it. ;)

I have roof extension over my pool equipment and I leave south of Houston, TX . I don't think it matters if it is exposed to sun or not , dumps acid regardless , unfortunately
