ONGA ECO 800 - start up problem

About 2 years ago we replaced out pool pump with the Olga Eco 800. It will regularly not start up. The chlorinator alarm goes off advising me there is no water flow.
The pump is set low. I have reprogramed/increased the speed at this setting. Backwashing the filter will fix the problem sometimes for a week or two. The pool is not a "dirty" pool - there are no overhanging trees or leaf litter falling into the pool that should require me to backwash the pool weekly or fortnightly. Have previously owned pools and not had this problem before.
When the alarm is going off, I can press medium or high speed which will jump start it.
I live in a tropical environment and the pump is housed in a colour bond shed 3 x 3metres in size. I wonder if heat may have something to do with it. However it can occur at morning start up when the shed is in shade and relatively cool.
Any advise.
