Hi Everyone,

Below is the link to the beta version of ScreenLogic Connect. We have heard from several of you over the last several months about compatibility problems with newer Android phones running Android 6 and 7.

To fix these problems, we rebuilt ScreenLogic Connect from the ground up.

Here are some of the enhancements:

- All new look - we hope you enjoy it!
- IntelliChem users can now change set points for pH and ORP
- The circuits on the main page are clickable
- All new, more intuitive Schedules page
- Pentair heat pumps with Cooling capabilities should now be supported
- History - we are currently building an all new page using a new graphing module. This will come in the next release in a few weeks or less.

Tips: Instead of using the "hamburger" menu icon to show the main page, try using your thumb and swipe left to right to have the menu appear (and right to left to hide it). You can also press and hold for 2 seconds on the blue menu bar at the top (where your pool name is listed) and let go to go back to the connection screen to connect to another pool.

Please give this a test and post a reply to this thread regarding what you like, don't like or what isn't working well for you.

Hi , I just installed version 48.
When I click on the cleaner it runs but when I try to shut it off by moving the button 'left/off' the cleaner does not shut off. All the circuits will go on but will not shut off.

What can I do?

Thanks for working on this! Excited for the new functionality :).

No luck with remote connections, but locally, it gets as far as "Getting system info" and just stays there. Have tried rebooting protocol adapter and app.

I was told this was the best place to get support to finally get my phone working it has now been 5 days and zero replies other than more people saying it doesn't work. updated the app today with your new release, also updated the firmware still not working! doing the exact same thing as before

Works fine on my Galaxy S5. I don't think the overall interface is better. I do like having access to schedules. Look forward to having history back again. I don't like how it asks me to turn on WIFI every time I launch it.

I like the fact that

I like the fact that scheduling has been added. The summary screen fonts are too small to read comfortably on my small screen tablet (Nexus 7) with my 70 year old eyes. Also, please add light colors under the settings menu as in the PC version. I individually set my Intellibrite spa light and pool lights (individual relays) with my easy touch and like to change the colors when I am in the pool. The original screenlogic connect had a more pleasing visual presentation than this beta version has, but it might be I am just used to the old screens. Thanks to Pentair to finally beginning to bringing the screenlogic mobil apps up to modern standards. I have not noticed any outstanding bugs in this beta version, but have only connected to my nexus 7 android tablet so far. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Gary and everyone for testing this beta version. I hope to post a new version soon. Also, if you are having problems with this version running on your Android phone, please send me an email at pentairscreenlogic@gmail.com and I will add your email (pretty sure it needs to be a gmail address) so you can download it from the Google Beta Store. This will allow our developers to get detailed crash log files that will help them fix the app to work on your phone. Sorry for the problems...Android development is proving to be a challenge. Too many Android devices (13,915 as of today) with varying OS's and customizations!

Hi everyone, here is a link to the beta:

Please download build 35 located several posts below...

In this version, you will find a new summary page and the buttons on the Summary/Circuits page are now live (quick way to turn circuits on and off without jumping deeper into the interface).

Also, the History page now works. We are still working on Landscape rotation but that will come soon.

If you have a newer Android phone running Android 6 or 7 and have problems with this app not running, please send me an email at pentairscreenlogic@gmail.com and we will have you join the beta program. Note that it is the same file but the difference is our developers will get crash reports that should help them fix the problem. Also, in order to participate, you have to have a gmail email account.

I have a HUGE problem!! I just bought a home in Texas. Now, I am told that I can not control the pool with anything but internet access..and that there is NO manual way to control settings/timers /or even temperature control for the pool and spa! Is this really true? I can't even enjoy my spa because I don't have internet service???!!? How to I bypass this? Getting the rep to call me is like pulling teeth....I need help desperately!!!

Hello Mellissa, this would be incorrect info. You can use ScreenLogic with a local wifi router that has no Internet connection. You have two options when you run ScreenLogic on iOS or Android - you can choose to connect Locally through your wifi or Remotely from anywhere in the world but this remote option requires that you have Internet.

Beta 29 app will not close

Beta 29 app will not close properly on my Nexus 7 2013. It bricks my tablet until I do a power recycle. I had to delete app and then install the regular screenlogic app.

I use a large font and not all the display like that. Look at pool, spa, and history. These may need a little work to accommodate larger fonts or you need to override the fonts from system defaults. Other than the app always asking me to turn on wifi it is looking good. Also not sure which port SL uses, but they are blocked at my work. This is why I always have to turn off wifi before I use SL at work.

It's like we're twins. Large font; disable WiFi due to work firewalls. Did you eventually get connected with WiFi turned off? I got to the wait spinner then it jumps out of SL Connect. I'm going to try taking a walk and turn WiFi back on while out of range of the Office.

Update: No love on the walk. Nexus 5X w/ latest System Update.

I updated to latest beta 30, and it still doesn't connect with my Google Pixel XL running Android 7.1.1...... I tap on my system name, and then it says "getting system info..." and it has a spinning icon that goes indefinitely.

I am running a Pixel XL, I have tried the app with both system 7.1 initially and now with 7.1.1. The app will open and show a side bar window. If I am on the same network/wifi as the adapter it will show my adapters address. If I then click on the adapter name it goes to a black screen for approximately 5-10 seconds then reverts back to the phone home page. If I try it on a remote network, I can switch to the other window of the app and add in my adapter address manually. But the same result occurs after that.

Hi everyone, several of our development phones just updated to Android 7 so we are seeing what you are seeing (what James described on his Pixel two posts up). Something has changed in 7 and our developer is on it. We will post an update when we have it fixed.

Nexus 5X, Android Nougat 7.0, Novermber Security Patch

I left WiFi on, and as soon as it finished counting down; the app vanishes (not sure if it is closed or still running.)

Turned WiFi off thinking it might be a problem with works Firewall. Same problem; app vanishes.

Here is build 34, I have confirmed this fixed the Android 7 problems on my Nexus 5 phone. I'm hoping it solves the same problems on your phones. Please let me know how this version works for everyone.

Updated today to build 34. Still working with no issues on Samsung S5. Glad to read Android 7 is fixed. Still need to turn off WIFI at work to get to my controller. This is not a new issue. If possible can you add an alternative port that is IT friendly?

Hi Dave, glad build 34 is working for you. I doubt we will be able to make it work with on your company's wifi. I have the same problem at my company with ScreenLogic and a bunch of other apps that I use.

I was using build 34 without issues, but tried build 35 and lost ability to edit or display schedules. Down graded back to build 34 and it works again.

My phone is S5 with 6.0.1 + Dec 1st security patch.

I put this comment in an earlier section. I am using ver 48 and when I turn on a circuit i.e. cleaner on, spa on etc.. it will not shut off when I swipe the button to the 'left/off'. when I do swipe left the cleaner stays on and running. when I go to another section like Features the cleaner is 'right/on' and swipe 'left/off' but the cleaner does not turn off.

Also, it is worth mentioning that before installing these beta versions, I would recommend deleting your existing version on ScreenLogic for Android by going into Settings / Apps / SLConnect and Force Stop and then uninstall from there. Then install the new version.

Using build 37, I've noticed

Using build 37, I've noticed a possible bug. After authenticating via WIFI, then disabling WIFI, the app indicates that I'm still connected, although the functionality appears to be unresponsive. It would be nice if it seemlessly transferred to the OTA connection, but if that's not possible, then log us out then have us log back in remotely OTA.

Theis erroneously leads us to believe that we're connected and activating the system when we're not.

The good news is that it did

The good news is that it did eventually time out and log me out (I didn't time it). It then signed me in remotely and automatically OTA, which is nice.

The bad news is that it's now flashing an annoying message to "Turn on Wifi service."

If I force sign out then sign back in manually OTA, then the Wi-Fi sign in message does not appear. It only seems to appear when automatically transferred from Wi-Fi to OTA remote.

Updated Android phone apps to build 37

The system was installed last May and had been working fine until a couple weeks ago. I can no longer control my system via my desktop Screenlogic application or via any Android phone. My wife’s iPhone still works on the system. I cannot connect to the system with my phone’s Wi-Fi on or off. It just shows continuously trying to connect. I have two Android phones that used to work and don’t now – Samsung S5 (Ver 5.0) and S7 (Ver 6.0.1).

Interestingly enough, you can still use the Screenlogic desktop app to configure my system and make changes to the programming of the control system; however, it will no longer connect to simply turn features on and off or show the usual system status.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks David. I can confirm that I have flashed the protocol adapter with the 733 update as you provided above and the symptoms still remain:

After successfully connecting via WIFI locally and then disconnecting WIFI subsequently, the app still indicates that it is "connected", yet the functionality is not operational. At the time of this post, it's been ten minutes thus far and it still hasn't timed out.

I should mention that I am

I should mention that I am indeed able to force it to disconnect by holding down my device name. I am then able to select my device alias and reconnect remotely - HOWEVER - upon the first remote reconnection the menu's are riddled with bugs. For example, the "Pool" menu shows a strange temperature setpoint circle.

If I then force close and restart the app, then re-authenticate remotely the app behaves normally and full functionality is restored.

For reference, I'm on a Pixel XL, 7.1.1., build 37 on your app.
