Pentair Legend - Would a faulty backup valve cause the cleaner to stall?

Recently and on occasion, I observed my cleaner stuck in one spot with the front wheels turning very slowly. I originally thought the booster pump was faulty and had it replaced since stopping and then restarting the cleaner from my Mobi got it going again. Yesterday, after starting to operate and run for several hours, the cleaner again stalled. I'm wondering if during the b/u cycle, the gearing is getting stuck and not allowing the cleaner to resume its normal operation. I'd like to know if this is a possibility before investing $60 in a new backup valve. Thanks.

If it were stuck, it wouldn't have enough flow to pull the cleaner out.  It should cycle about once per three minutes.  It should normally only have a trickle of water, then should shoot a jet when active.

Check the splines on the pull wheels. As bearings go
Bad the wheels will wobble and strip out the
Spline . Cleaner will run fine unless it get caught on
The striped spot while in back-up mode. If it is this
You will need new  bearings and a new wheel. Check the other
Wheel bearing while you are at it
