Should there be washetr on the ends of IC Chlorinator?

I just acid-cleaned the IC20 Chlorinator. I only tightened it hand tight. Water is leaking out of one end. I did not see any washers, should there be washers? Should I use a wrench to tighten the leaking fitting?

No wrenches. There should be an o-ring, 355330.
