Permalink Reply by Rebecca Schlemmer on August 17, 2011 at 8:48am My cousin has a beachside condo on Ft.Lauderdale beach, every evening we would enjoy cocktails, grillin & an evening swim in the pool. It was so relaxing to hear the beach waves and feel the ocean breeze, we enjoyed best of both (pool & ocean).

Permalink Reply by Raymond Collins on August 17, 2011 at 4:54pm On the 4th of july we swam in the pool and barbequed on the patio. Then when the sun went down we lit the fireworks.

Permalink Reply by Robert Kilian on August 17, 2011 at 8:59pm The best memory was this summer when I dumped the old garbage Hayward Heater and added the new Pentair Heater. It is absolutely so wonderfully, elegantly engineered. It works like a swiss watch, its quiet, energy efficient, and I really liked the special alloy exchanger and quick connect casting.
I am an Engineer that has worked all over the world and at NASA, and I can tell you this is a great product.
I love it. Thank you so much.

Permalink Reply by Scott Bair on August 25, 2011 at 10:33pm Attention East Coasters In Irene's Path:
Public service message:Do not cover your pool. It could blow away. This includes those with automatic covers. Unless your pool and it's equipment are on your homeowners, the repair is on you.
Boost your chlorine level to 10X the proper level shortly before it hits. 6% Bleach like Clorox or Great Value is best.
Turn off the system at the main panel's breaker to the sub-panel outside. before power goes out or you get a spike when another area goes off line, This will preserve your pumps and automation systems until power is reliable again.
Secure patio sets. Those with gunite pools might be able to pull the cushions off and set the chairs in the pool. They won't go anywhere. Obviously, don't do this with wrought iron type furniture. :-/
Turn tables upside down. They won't catch much wind that way.
Secure the shed.
Don't put things where they can fly. 100 MPH winds are no joke!
I assume no liability for this but felt compelled to do this.
God Speed;
Scott
Permalink Reply by Janis Lamartiniere on August 31, 2011 at 11:32am I have always dreamed of having a home by a lake, ocean, some body of water. Finally, this year my dream came true, we built our pool. It has become my oasis. It gives me the calmness of the water and the surrounding garden adds to the serenity. On other positive notes it has improved my health as I exercise 45 minutes a day in the pool. The fun part is having my granddaughter learn to swim and splash with friends this summer.
Congratulations to Rebecca Schlemmer, winner of the "Summer Memories" contest and recipient of the $50 gas card! A big thanks for all those who participated. Your memories made us smile. :)
