What is a "Qualified Installer"

Pentair offers a three- (3) year extended warranty on the following products when they are installed by a qualified installer and registered within sixty (60) days from the date of installation.

How is "qualified installer" defined?

I am in Arizona. If I use a pool installer that is licensed for "R-6 SWIMMING POOL SEVICE AND REPAIR" by Arizona Registrar of Contractors, does that alone suffice as a "qualified installer" for extended warranty purposes?

John,
Pentair Says that anyone that is in the Pool Industry as their trade is qualified for the extended 3 year warranty.
Pentair may have a list of guys in AZ that are warranty stations for their products that also do installs.
Daryl may chime in with that info soon I hope

John,
James is correct; we classify a qualified installer as someone in the pool industry and/or a professional that you pay to install your equipment. An electrician is not in the pool industry but should be more than qualified to install a load center for example. Not Joe the roofer from next door.
As for Pentair being able to provide a list of companies, the only thing we have available to you is going to be the dealer locator available on our site but this list is not all inclusive and you may have a company in your area that you prefer to work with.

Okay thanks.

Obviously then any Arizona pool service company holding license "R-6 SWIMMING POOL SEVICE AND REPAIR" would be a "qualified installer". That's all I needed to know.

Will a licensed professional electrician meet Pentair "qualified installer" criteria if used to install a Sta-Rite IntelliPro pool pump? Thanks, Dan

Dan,
Yes, this is assuming he has basic knowledge of the necessary requirements for plumbing.

I am a licensed professional Elevator installer, we wire up 110, 220, 480 volt motors and pumps everyday as well as do all the plumbing. Will this meet the Pentair "qualified installer" criteria if I install my pumps?
Thanks,
Andrew

Qualified Installer is defined on the warranty page of the Pentair website. You can view that here: https://pentairpool.com/en/support/registration%20and%20warranty/product%20warranty.
