This could also be black algae, a build up of metals, or even mold. I would like to know a complete water analysis before make any concrete recommendations. Chlorine levels; both total and free, ph, alkalinity, calcium hardness, copper & iron, and even phosphates.  This will help in determining the cause of the greyish spots. www.bestpoolandspastore.com

I have a fiberglass pool. Recently there is  black/grayish spotting in different areas of the pool. I went to the Central Fl Home Show and several pool companies said it was a build up of chemicals and could be cleaned. I have been unable to locate a pool store that sells anything like this. I was even told to contact boat suppliers. Can anyone help?
