Pentair Takes the #ALSIceBucketChallenge

Now, it’s your turn, pool community.
The Pentair Aquatic Systems leadership team took the Ice Bucket Challenge and donated $2,500 to the ALS Association. Now, it’s your turn, pool community. If you are a pool owner, swimmer, pool builder or anyone else who works in the pool industry, this challenge is for you! We will make a $100 donation to the ALS Association for each of the next 75 Ice Bucket Challenge videos shot in a pool and posted to our Facebook page. That adds up to $7,500 in additional contributions, for a total of $10,000!

ALS is a serious condition. According to the ALS Association, approximately 5,600 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year. It is estimated that as many as 30,000 Americans may have the disease at any given time. ALS can strike anyone and THERE IS NO CURE.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is more than just an Internet fad. It’s a global effort to help defeat ALS. To date, the ALS Association has raised nearly $95 Million. We know the pool community is a generous community and can make a difference with these efforts.

If you choose to accept this challenge, the rules are:

  1. The video has to be shot in a pool.
  2. The video has to be posted to our Facebook page.

You can track the challenge contribution progress on our Ice Bucket Challenge One Dollar Difference Page.

Also, please donate to the ALS Association as you are able. This is a devastating condition and it’s going to take tremendous resources to find a cure.

Thank you for your consideration of this critical effort. Let’s send the message that the pool community is ready to take the challenge to help defeat ALS!
