Poolside Thanksgiving Décor

Outdoor table set for Thanksgiving meal with stunning fall colors

Halloween is over, fall is officially here and Thanksgiving is right around the corner! This means it’s time to dress up your décor with some seasonal style – both inside and out. Take the holiday celebration poolside with these three decorating ideas:

  • Use Nature’s Color Palette

When decorating for fall, let nature’s color palette be your guide! There are so many stunning fall colors to choose from, so it’s easy to coordinate your Thanksgiving décor with the colors already found in your backyard. Add a stunning outdoor rug to your patio. Replace the towels in your pool basket with warm blankets.

Nature can also help you pick out the perfect color napkins, placemats and table runner for your Thanksgiving dinner. Paired with the tips below, you’re sure to impress your guests with the stunning, natural Thanksgiving display.

  • Add Some Fall Flavor

Pumpkin spice is the flavor of the season. But go a step above and beyond and decorate your yard with the flavors of fall, which include pumpkins, gourds, corn and apples – the whole cornucopia of flavors and colors. The natural elements will fit in well both indoors and out. Pumpkins and other gourds can be hollowed out to be used as flower pots, vases or even luminaries. Apples make perfect tea light holders.

Traditional holiday decorating with things like corn stalks, straw bales, and pine cones always looks great, especially with some seasonal flowers. Mums come in many great fall colors, and pansies and black-eyed Susans are also popular fall flowers. You can also use leaves and berries to decorate. Additionally, garlands and wreaths aren’t just for Christmas. Wreaths in warm fall colors are a special touch, and there are lots of great-looking fall garlands available. Drape your fence with maple leaf garland for a surprisingly striking touch that everyone will notice.

  • Light Up the Night

In addition to lighting with pumpkins or apples, there are lots of great ways to use lighting to add holiday warmth to your backyard. Paper lanterns in fall colors look great anywhere and candles are always elegant and festive.

And because fall evenings are often cool, a fire pit is a sure winner at any outdoor evening gathering! There’s no better time to gather around the fire than Thanksgiving. Fire is a natural focal point where people will gather, so make sure to have plenty of available seating and some warm fall blankets to curl up in.

Note: Please be careful with an open flame outdoors. Never leave a fire or candle unattended and be prepared to extinguish them at any moment. If conditions or local authorities warn that fires are dangerous or are not recommended, please do not light a fire! Learn more about preventing wildfires here.

Colored pool lighting is another fantastic way to bathe your gathering in warm fall colors. The MicroBrite™ Color and White LED Lights allow you to change the color of your pool’s lighting for any occasion or even just to match your mood.

Warm weather may be fading into the cold, but that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to enjoy your pool. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to turn your backyard into a warm and inviting spot to spend with your friends and family.
