Automation and control systems are all the hardware, software, sensors, and other devices that make it easier and more economical to keep a pool or spa operating at peak performance.

Pool and Spa Control Systems are electronic control systems that allow centralized control of all or selected pool elements. Most are programmable via touchpad or touch screen interfaces. These systems are typically installed in poolside enclosures that route power and control signals to pumps, valves, heaters, filters and water features.

Remote Systems can make on-site or far-off operation even easier. It allows pool owners to step away from a poolside control panel and use multi-functional controllers such as an in-wall touch screen, smart phone, tablet or computer.

Sensors and measurement equipment are installed to keep tabs on water temperature, pH, and sanitizer levels. They are most often electronically linked to the pool’s master control system, which uses the information to make automatic adjustments.  Some are stand-alone devices, such as one dedicated to monitoring and metering chemicals to control pH.

Tips: When considering automation systems, look for devices from reputable manufacturers with a good track record. Try live demonstrations to be sure you’re comfortable with the user interface.   Be sure to get a system that allows for expansion in case you’ll want to add more peripheral equipment later.
