Songdej, your question has also been posted to the Pumps Forum at

Comment by Zack Pickard on February 1, 2012 at 9:56am This can be confusing, but it's probably less confusing to think about the wiring terminals as being "L1" and "L2" rather than "Hot" and "Neutral".
Pentair Water Pool and Spa IntelliFlo pump and Sta-Rite IntelliPro pumps are
designed to operate on 230 volt +/-10%, single-phase, AC power, 50hz or 60hz.
When installing an IntelliFlo pump, always safely use a multi-meter to measure
the actual voltage across the two live conductors to verify that it is 230 volt
+/-10%, single-phase, AC power, 50hz or 60hz.
(If a person uses a multi-meter to measure just one wire, they would normally see that half of the voltage is carried by each wire. In other words, there is not a true "neutral" wire in a single-phase, 230V system.)
NOTE:
All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician. It is the responsibility of
the installer/electrician to perform the installation in compliance with the National
Electric Code and all State, local codes and ordinances. It is the responsibility of the
installer to perform the installation in such a manner that the IntelliFlo/IntelliPro pump is
provided with 230 volt +/-10%, single-phase, AC power, 50hz or 60hz.
