My screenlogic connection was working last year and is not when I opened the pool. My protocol adapter is to my ethernet network. Nothing shows under local systems on the Windows "Screenlogic connect" program, and I don't see anything even vaguely like Pentair when I look at the network through my router admin program. Using the paperclip reset or unplugging the green connector does nothing I phoned Pentair and was on hold for 63 minutes, and then lost the phone connection while I was peering at lights on the protocol adapter. Arghh!
I'm not about to do another phone call!
I had no idea there *were* lights at the CAT5 cable end of the adapter. I don't think the manual mentions them. If the Pentair tech (Tony) was asking me if they were green, then presumably this is important. Incidentally, there are two lights and they seem to my old eyes to be green. Lots of people seem to be having similar problems. My local pool provider has only one person who knows the Easytouch panel, and he has no idea about setting up the screenlogic program. For all I know, the guys who closed my pool removed a fuse as part of their procedure and never told me (unlikely, I know, but the point is, the thing is a black hole with no light shining therein.)
My question is: surely there is a document somewhere which takes someone through a list of simple questions to eliminate common causes. Can we get it? What can I try short of another marathon hold session?
Update - I'm back up and running. As I suspected, I needed a new Interface adapter. Thank you Richard for troubleshooting. I still don't know what the two lights mean - something to do with the ethernet connection, I presume. FYI right now with it working, I have two lights on, and they appear to be green, but my eyes are so bad and the lights so small, they could be any bright colour!
